Coastal Destinations

Ireland's South East is well-known for its temperate and sunny climate. This makes it an ideal location to relax on the golden beaches, to enjoy the stunning scenery of the rugged coastline or to take part in the many activities the resorts such as Ardmore, Tramore, Dunmore East, Duncannon, Curraghcloe and Courtown have to offer. 

Below is a list of some of the more attractive and popular coastal resorts in the South East.

Ann Rinn (Ring) - Co Waterford
This lovely, wild area on the western shores of Dungarvan Bay is the heart of the Gaeltacht, an area where the Irish language is spoken on a daily basis.

Ardmore - Co Waterford
Originally a 5th century monastic settlement, this lovely and popular seaside resort is on the Gaeltacht & Galltacht Scenic Drive and has won many awards for its attractiveness and its neatness.

Courtown - Co Wexford
One of the most beautiful and unspoiled seaside resorts on the South East coast yet also offers a wide variety of attractions to the visitor.

Duncannon - Co Wexford
This is a wonderful seaside resort with a long, sandy beach and a charming village on the eastern shore of Waterford Harbour.

Dungarvan - Co Waterford
A thriving, seaside market town situated beside Dungarvan Harbour. It is an ideal base for for any tourist wishing to tour or holiday in Ireland's 'Sunny South East'.

Dunmore East - Co Waterford
One of the most picturesque fishing and holiday villages in the South East and an area of true beauty and tranquility.

Fethard-on-Sea - Co Wexford
Fethard is  the main town in the Hook Peninsula and a resort gaining in popularity as a seaside destination. It is also very close to many of Wexford's beautiful beaches.

Kilmore Quay - Co Wexford
Kilmore Quay is a small fishing village on the eastern side of the Ballyteige Bay and is probably best known as the point of access for the Saltee Islands.

Rosslare - Co Wexford
Rosslare Holiday Resort is situated along 5 miles of safe, sandy beach and also offers something for every fisherman from beach fishing to sea angling.

Stradbally - Co Waterford
Stradbally is a tranquil destination situated along the "Copper Coast" road. With its sandy beach  and  the rugged Ballyvooney Cove being spectacularly set under a dramatic headland, it is an  ideal destination for a relaxing break.

Tramore - Co Waterford
One of the leading seaside resorts in the South East, Tramore boasts a 5km long sandy beach, as well as local instructors offering surfing lessons. Its night life reflects the popularity of the place with families, couples and singles.
