Kilmore Quay, Wexford

Kilmore Quay 19km southwest of Rosslare on Forlorn Point is a small fishing village full of charms with its thatched roofs, and whitewashed seaside cottages. It is possible to visit the uninhabited Saltee Islands from here, haven for birdlife. The islands are directly on one of the most important migratory routes for birds traveling to the breeding or wintering grounds.

Local Skipper/owner, Dick Hayes offer deep sea angling, reef & shark fishing off the south east coast as well as scenic boat trips around the Saltee Islands. Shore fishing in the area also offers exciting prospects.

A former lightship, the Guillemot, converted into a maritime museum, stands proudly in the harbour. It is maintained and staffed by voluntary enthusiast and is open to visitors during some months of the year - Tel: 051 561144.

The village is also renowned for its seafood cuisine and traditional pubs.
