In addition Carlow, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Waterford and Wexford have a thriving faming industry that provides the finest meats, poultry and game, and freshly picked vegetables to local restaurants. The South East is also renowned for its bounty of soft fruits in high summer and the early summer crops of peas, courgettes, asparagus and salad leaves. Rich ripe strawberries take centre stage at special events held in the region each year, most notably the famous Wexford Strawberry Festival in Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford; a county which is also famous for its potatoes! Of course, when in Waterford, don't forget to try the great tasting blaa, a small bread roll unique to this county.
Baileys Hotel is ideally located halfway between Dublin & Cork in the centre of Cashel Town. Situated in Tipperarys Golden Vale it is within a short walk of the Rock of Cashel. It was was built in 1709 as a gentleman’s townhouse and was completely renovated in 2006 while maintaining its old world feel. Baileys Hotel is a beautifully restored Georgian building, with a 4 star rating, 19 rooms and one luxuriously appointed suite. All rooms provide en-suite bathrooms with underground heating & fluffy bathrobes as well as free high-speed internet, interactive TV & on-demand movies. Restaurant 42 offers a full a-la-carte menu and the Cellar Bar serves fine food ifrom 12 noon to 9.30pm daily. Sunday lunch is also available.

Bodega! Restaurant in Waterford city is owned and run by Cormac & Donagh Cronin who have created a food emporium with top quality, local ingredients, prepared by passionate chefs. Bodega champions the local food producers.They have an extensive wines list at affordable prices. The atmosphere is informal with spanish decor, a funky eclectic mix of food and pleasant ambiance.

Campagne Restaurant is one of the Kilkennys' most celebrated restaurants. Located at Gashouse Lane in Kilkenny the restaurant works with only the best suppliers to produce food that is stylish and described variously by critics as “gastronomic excellence” and “one of the most perfect dining experiences”. Chef Garrett Byrne’s philosophy is to serve modern food using the finest Irish produce in a relaxed, contemporary setting with oak flooring, curved banquet style seating and bright modern colours. The modern interior features a modern interpretation of country life which was painted by Kilkenny artist Catherine Barron. Campagne has won many awards and accolades over the years since the restaurant opened in 2008, including Best Leinster Restaurant for three years in a row. More recently, Garrett was awarded the Restaurants Association of Ireland’s Chef of the Year Award for 2012.

Each room has a specially selected Verbena range from Plantation toiletries, a DVD player and bathrobes. Located across the courtyard in an original stone building and with a contemporary interior of wood and natural stone, the Spa will make guests feel cocooned and at ease from the moment they arrive. The Harvest Room Restaurant serves delicious food and is run by TV chef, Kevin Dundon. Dunbrody offers breakfast till 12:00 in its restaurant and champagne bar and terrace. Dunbrody Country House is near the Hook Peninsula where there are beaches, walks and villages to explore.

Major renovations and extensions were completed at the Wall Family’s large modern guesthouse in the spring of 1999, but Hanora’s still nurtures the spirit of the ancestral home around which it is built. The Walls are caring and hospitable hosts and this plus the luxurious accommodation and good food make Hanora’s a very special place. Overnight guests have the privilege of starting the day with Hanora’s legendary breakfast buffet, which is the Munster and National winner of the Denny Irish Breakfast Award. A completely new restaurant and kitchen emerged from the extension of Hanora’s Cottage and imaginative, well-balanced menus make for some excellent dining.

For a taste of authentic and delicious Italian food in Waterford, check out a special eaterie at number 37 on the city's Stephen Street. Harlequin Cafe and Wine Bar is owned and run by native Italians Simone Girogi and Alessandro Lopez who offer mouth-watering Italian recipes each Monday through to Saturday. They insist on using authentic Italian ingredients and the result is the best quality, delicious Italian food, offered at very competitive prices. The location is perfect for city centre shoppers or workers looking for a bite to eat, morning through to evening. In the evening, the ambience at Harlequin changes. There’s candlelight and soft music to create a relaxing setting, perfect for either a romantic night out or a meal with family or friends. Again, here’s a great selection of fantastic meals on offer and you can also choose from the extensive selection of exclusive Italian wines. However, the secret of Harlequin Café, the owners insist, is not the creamy cappuccino, exceptional wines, competitive prices or indeed the romantic and relaxing night time atmosphere. According to Alessandro and Simone, it is the warm ambience that you experience at any time of the day that makes this premises unique. Harlequin Café opens from opens from 8.30am to 8.30pm Monday to Wednesday, 8.30am to 10.30pm on Thursday and Friday and from 9.30am to 10.30pm on Saturday.

La Boheme is located in the heart of Waterford City within a five minute walk from a range of good bars and night spots. This restaurant offers Bistro style food. An amazing restaurant providing incredible value for the money asked. This is plain and simply truly good cooking. The staff are observant and attentive without being overpowering. And so friendly and gracious when taking orders and bringing the food. In short, the service, the food, the wine and the “ambiance” are second to none and La Boheme is definitely worth a visit for a very enjoyable meal in Waterford City.

O’Brien Chop House is an unassuming restaurant which offers traditional and hearty Irish food in a lovely atmospheric old Victorian Townhouse. Ingredients are all sourced locally and served at very reasonable prices. O’Brien is the original name of the premises, imprinted above the main window and the term 'Chop House' has been borrowed from London’s old chop houses where you could sample a variety of chops, cutlets and steaks on the bone. At O’Brien Chop House, we always have an assortment of chops, cutlets, steaks and pies on the menu. Seafood dishes also feature including seasonal oysters and whole fish cooked on the bone.
